Samsung's X5 is a little gem that combines NVMe and Thunderbolt™ 3 with the result of transfer speeds that far outperform conventional SSDs, which generally run at around 500MB/s.
To give you an example, the Samsung X5 allows you to transfer a 20GB 4K UHD video from your Mac to the X5 in just 12 seconds (if your computer is properly equipped with Flash storage and Thunderbolt 3 ports).
To avoid overheating problems, Samsung uses DTG (Dynamic Thermal Guard) technology on its X5 to maintain constant performance and temperature. A heat sink keeps the surface temperature of the X5 below 45°C. It's made from a single piece and is reinforced with a magnesium alloy that can even withstand drops from 2 metres.
