Weighing just over a kilo when held out at arm’s length, that’s the weight of the Schill GT 235.RM cable reel, product code GT 235.RM. Weighing 1.05 kg and measuring 295 x 233 x 112 mm, it fits easily into a production bag or tour case, where larger models won’t fit. The 235 mm diameter drum winds up a connection cable without kinking it.

The special rubber used in the GT series is resistant to petrol and oils, which is important on the floor of a hall or construction site where stains are common. The easy-to-operate axle bearing turns smoothly with minimal effort. The locking screw secures the drum at the desired length, and the RM auxiliary reel accommodates a spare cable.

Supplied without a cable, the reel is compatible with XLR-XLR micro-cables, LS cables, CEE cables and multi-core cables, making it suitable for both audio and power applications. Tried and tested in use, this model comes from Laichingen, where Schill has been manufacturing since 1968, following its foundation in 1948 by engineer Otto Schill. Its activities span audio-video, broadcast and industry. The family is now in its third generation of running the business.
