When you plug in Singular Sound's BeatBuddy 2, the first thing that strikes you is the wealth of its 220 built-in styles spread across 24 different genres, and the presence of 13 drum kits recorded in studio quality with 44.1 kHz sampling and 24-bit resolution. You could spend hours exploring these rhythms and still feel like you've barely scratched the surface of this pedal's possibilities.
In its 10 years of evolution, Singular Sound has refined its concept to an almost organic machine, capable of offering natural transitions thanks to the Autopilot mode. With this system, you start a song and the variations are managed automatically without pressing a switch, allowing you to keep your hands on your instrument and your head focused on the performance. The enlarged, brighter screen is a welcome visual boost both on stage and in the studio, especially when the light isn't always your best friend.
Just when you thought you'd reached the limit, the BeatBuddy 2 opens another door with 2 additional switch inputs compatible with the 6-channel SuperSwitch and an expression pedal, so you can shape tempo or volume in real time. This versatility gives you the impression of total control, as if every nuance of your playing were immediately reflected in the rhythms generated by the pedal.
When it comes to the future, it's all about memory expansion and online editing. With the included 4GB SD card, expandable up to 32GB, you can load up to 3 million songs. La Beat Buddy 2 est une très bonne boîte à rythmes qui permet de jouer en live. Les améliorations réalisées sur cette version permettent une utilisation beaucoup plus appréciable comme par exemple, son grand écran qui permet une meilleur visibilité, la mise sous tension grâce au bouton marche/arrêt qui ménage d’avantage la pédale, les 2 boutons sticks qui permettent une meilleur réactivité et précision lorsqu’on les sollicite… je suis satisfaite et j’espère que sa durée de vie sera de meilleure que la Beat Buddy 1.
