Tama - WBST8H-LPO Starclassic Walnut/Birch Tom 8'' x 6'' Lacquer Phantasm Oyster

The Tama WBST8H-LPO Starclassic is a compact rack tom designed to enhance your kit with a fast response and dense bass despite its small diameter. Tama uses a 6mm barrel with 4 layers of birch on the outside and 2 layers of American black walnut on the inside.

The birch provides a clear attack and precise projection, ideal for piercing through a dense mix. The walnut adds warmth and body in the low and midrange, preventing the sound from being too dry or thin. On an 8-inch tom, this choice of wood makes a real difference: the note remains defined while retaining substance.

The 6" depth promotes a fast response, perfect for dynamic fills and technical shots. This tom has a natural place in modern rock, pop, fusion or technical metal, where precision is essential. In the studio, its clarity and controlled sustain make it easy to pick up under mic.

The Star-Cast suspension system holds the tom in place without constricting direct holes in the body, allowing the wood to vibrate freely. Moulded zinc hoops enhance tuning stability and give a firmer feel under the stick. Quick-Lock brackets make assembly quick and secure.

It is fitted with an Evans Genera G2 Clear double-ply headstock, renowned for its durability and balance between attack and roundness. In resonance, the TAMA Power Craft II ensures good note definition.

The Lacquer Phantasm Oyster finish highlights the wood grain under a high-gloss varnish, with elegant, sturdy chrome hardware.
