Sold as a pair, the Zildjian K Light Hi Hats 16" offers a much more open and organic approach to the modern hi-hat. From the first strokes of the stick, the sound is deeper and wider than a traditional hi-hat, with a dark, fluid wash that immediately gives the groove more space.

The 16" format clearly changes the feel of the instrument. The sound breathes more, with a slightly sloshy edge that's much appreciated in modern styles like fusion, indie, contemporary jazz and alternative rock. Even in more classic settings like pop or country, this pair retains excellent musicality without becoming overpowering.

The balance between the thin top medium and the bottom medium also contributes enormously to playing comfort. The hi-hat remains precise underfoot, with a strong chick response, while remaining supple and very lively when played with the stick. Nuances come through easily, and the dark harmonics typical of the K series add plenty of depth to the kit.

Made from B20 alloy with a traditional finish, these cymbals develop a warm, natural character that works just as well in the studio as it does on stage. It's a hi-hat designed for drummers who like their sounds wider, more textured and less shiny than a traditional hi-hat.
