Mallets

Work on long resonances and orchestral ascents with the Zildjian Gong Rollers mallets, sold in pairs. Their wool head and maple handles facilitate fluid rolls, low drones and progressive crescendos on the gong. An interesting choice for symphonic percussion, film music or more immersive ambient textures.

ARTICLE N° 122604
The Zildjian Gong Rollers have been designed for percussionists who work with long resonances, progressive crescendos and layers of sound on the gong. Sold in pairs, these mallets facilitate continuous rolls and dynamic ascents without jarring the instrument.

Thanks to their maple handles, they remain light and pleasant to move across the surface of the gong. This lighter weight helps to keep gestures fluid, especially during atmospheric passages or low drones, which need to remain regular and controlled. The large wool head creates a softer contact with the metal, helping the low frequencies to breathe without an overly aggressive attack.

In an orchestral context, film music, sound design or even ambient performances, these mallets easily find their place. They are just as useful for building progressive tension as they are for creating a more explosive dramatic accent. Played with a single mallet or in a two-handed roll, they quickly give the gong greater breadth and movement.
