AKG - DMM8 U
The AKG DMM8 U is a professional digital automixer designed for conference, broadcast and public address applications. With its integrated DSP, advanced audio routing functions and cascading capability of up to 80 channels, it integrates easily into fixed installations and complex conference systems.
Presentation
Its DSP architecture automates microphone mixing to reduce the usual problems associated with multi-microphone systems: accumulated background noise, comb effect, feedback or unnatural level variations. The DMM8 U can manage up to 80 channels by cascading up to 10 units, making it possible to cover particularly large installations while maintaining consistent, centralised management of the system.
The unit features a host of integrated processing functions, including 12-band graphic EQ on the outputs, filters, compressor, limiter, ducking, delay and microphone priority functions. Its audio matrix system also allows inputs to be freely routed to the various outputs to create several mixes suited to different spaces or uses.
The DMM8 U also features a USB stereo audio port for multimedia applications and connections to computers used for presentations or video conferencing. The UL version adds network control via Ethernet, while the ULD version incorporates the Dante protocol for broadcast applications and more complex network audio infrastructures.
With its six programmable presets, the DMM8 U can be quickly reconfigured to suit the type of event or room configuration. Its 1U, 19-inch rack format makes it easy to integrate into professional technical racks.

Spotlight on
Founded in 1947 in Vienna, AKG is today one of the major players in the world of audio, with references for microphones and headphones used in the world's largest recording studios. These include the C414 condenser microphone, the small C451 diaphragm and the K series of monitoring headsets.
Since its acquisition by Harman International in 1994, AKG has continued to innovate with new stage microphones, analog and digital wireless systems, the Perception Series, and collaborations with artists such as Tiësto on DJ headphones.
