Presentation
Aguilar's Tone Hammer 210 Combo is aimed at bassists who want to rediscover the feel of a real stack, without the burden of a heavy, complex system. With its 300 watts and 2x10 vertical format, this combo strikes a natural balance between power, compactness and ease of use. From the very first notes, the response is direct and legible, ideal for small and medium-sized stages, studios or venues where the precision of the performance is as important as the sound level.
The vertical format of the baffle plays a major part in this legibility. The loudspeakers project the sound towards the musician's listening area, helping to maintain good feedback without pushing the volume. The bass register remains taut and controlled, far from the invasive bass sometimes associated with compact formats. The internal volume of the cabinet has been designed to let the two 10" drivers work freely, with a more stable response and better-defined attacks.
On the amplification side, Aguilar has incorporated the Tone Hammer section, renowned for its warm, responsive character. The grain remains musical, with dynamics that naturally follow fingerpicking, picking or slapping. The settings open the door to different sound signatures, from a round, vintage register to more modern, cutting attacks, depending on the context. The whole system reacts finely to touch, making playing more expressive and lively.
This combo can be easily integrated into modern set-ups thanks to its two independent XLR outputs. One can be used to feed the room's PA system, while the other can be used for a stage monitor or in-ear monitoring system, eliminating the need for fiddling and simplifying balancing.
The headphone output and auxiliary input also turn the Tone Hammer 210 into a real home studio tool: you can rehearse in silence, play backing tracks and work on your sound without disturbing those around you. The built-in cabinet simulation stabilises the direct output by reproducing the behaviour of a real loudspeaker, giving a more natural signal that's closer to what you hear on stage, in the studio or live.
