This Avid digital audio system places its MTRX Studio interface at the heart of the production workflow, with an architecture designed to bring together connections, routing and monitoring within a single workspace. This sound card provides a clear organisational structure for studio equipment, from recording to mixing. Its MTRX Thunderbolt 3 expansion module adds native connectivity with Mac and PC computers, whilst also providing access to other compatible audio workstations.

Presentation
The Pro Tools MTRX Studio serves as a central audio interface for organising a studio around multiple sources, monitoring systems and production formats. Its architecture is suited to music, mixing, post-production and immersive environments, with comprehensive signal management that makes it easy to switch between projects without the need for multiple dedicated devices.
The system also fits seamlessly into set-ups combining analogue, digital and networked equipment, thanks in particular to Dante, DigiLink and ADAT connections. This versatility allows signals to be routed between different spaces, systems and applications, with a centralised organisation that is particularly well-suited to studios required to manage numerous devices simultaneously. The result is a clear production workflow, where each connection retains a clearly identifiable function.
Monitoring control extends the system’s capabilities to include stereo, surround and immersive productions. Multiple listening configurations can thus coexist alongside routing and format management functions, creating an environment suited to both music production and post-production work.
The MTRX Thunderbolt 3 Module provides a new connection path between the interface and a Mac or PC. The system can therefore work with Pro Tools and other compatible audio workstations, whilst providing access to up to 64 low-latency input and output channels. This extension therefore broadens the scope of use without altering the interface’s core purpose.
For set-ups focused on immersive mixing, the system also provides the necessary resources for configurations up to 9.1.6 and beyond. The integrated SPQ processing allows for the calibration of speakers, delays and equalisation of the listening environment, with an approach tailored to different room geometries. This architecture thus promotes continuity between music creation, audio post-production and Dolby Atmos production, without requiring a complete system overhaul when the project format changes.
The routing matrix is another major asset for studios that need to coordinate numerous sources and destinations. With a 512 × 512 matrix and 64 Dante channels, signals can be distributed to different devices or workspaces, simplifying complex set-ups and minimising the need for physical adjustments when multiple audio streams need to run simultaneously.
