Axel Technology - Macrotel X2

The Macrotel X2 Multimode adds a new dimension to the management of telephone communications in the control room: whereas a single-line system focuses on a single call, this version allows you to work with two telephone lines. Each channel can be used individually, whilst the device also offers a conference function specially designed for situations where several callers need to be connected to the same call.

The two lines can be connected to different communication technologies depending on the chosen configuration: POTS/PSTN, VoIP, Bluetooth or GSM with optional interfaces. This versatility allows the Macrotel to be adapted to different telephone infrastructures without altering the entire audio chain in the control room.

Signal processing is handled by a real-time DSP. Each call benefits from features designed to maintain consistent sound quality: automatic gain control, parametric equalisation, audio filters, compression, expansion, limiting and digital echo cancellation. Transmit and receive levels can be adjusted separately to maintain a consistent balance between the caller and the feedback intended for them.

Operation is not limited to the rack front panel. The built-in web server provides access to settings via a web browser, whilst the network also enables integration with the Oxygen series digital consoles. The four GPIs and four GPOs offer a further means of interfacing with a console or an external control system.

The Macrotel X2 also supports the recording of conversations onto a USB stick in PCM format and can transmit an RTP/PCM stream to a computer. Call logs can be stored and exported, including details of both incoming and outgoing calls.
