The Germanium Compressor from Chandler Limited is a FET transistor mono compressor with Germanium amplifier. It has a Wet / Dry control to mix the compressed signal with the original signal, a compression curve, a Sidechain, and configurable Attack / Release controls.

  • Ratio: 1.5: 1 to 10.1.
  • Bypass: Lets you listen to the sound of the compressor or to compare sound differences between different gain and feedback settings.
  • Dity Comp / Clean Comp: FET compressors suffer from significant distortion. This is usually compensated in the design. The "Dirty Comp" position removes only the hardest distortion in the ear and retains the 2nd and 3rd order harmonics. The "Dirty Comp" position offers a DHT between 2 and 5% and improves the sound significantly. The "Clean Comp" position has a DHT between 0.2 and 0.5%.
  • Comp Curve function: with two settings per diode, two settings per silicon diode, one per zener and resistance. Each setting offers significant curve characteristics.
  • Sidechain function.
  • Wet / Dry function: used to mix the uncompressed input signal, this setting works as a pre-mix or a parallel compressor, all in one box.
  • Feedback function: changes the level of the output signal fed back to the input.
  • Rack Unit: 1U.
  • Attention, the product is delivered without power, Sonovente recommends the purchase of a PSU 1 power supply.
