The D'Addario EPS220 bass string set is part of the ProSteels series with a Super Light 40-95 drawbar for Long Scale basses. This light tension provides a supple feel and ease of play, particularly appreciated for fast or technical lines. The strings react immediately under the fingers, while retaining good tonal accuracy.
The construction is based on a hexagonal core of high-carbon steel, which stabilises tuning and improves intonation. The stainless steel purfling enhances sonic presence and produces the brightest tones in the entire D'Addario bass range. This composition enhances interaction with the magnetic pickups, resulting in punchy highs and firm lows.
Notes remain clean and well-defined throughout the register, even when played energetically. This sonic character is particularly suited to styles requiring precision and projection, such as rock or metal. The strings are packaged in a recyclable VCI bag that limits corrosion during storage. A Players Circle code on the packaging also enables the product to be registered. D'Addario EPS220 strings are made in the USA at the D'Addario factory in New York State.
