Savarez Y510MJ7 Signature Yamandu Costa tackles the homogeneity problem of the 7-string guitar head-on: where most sets leave a break in timbre between the middle and lower strings, the fluorocarbon G-3 bridges the gap - higher density than nylon, clean attack, balanced volume with the neighbouring nylon E-1 and B-2.
The synthetic multifilament core distributes tension over several fibres, stabilising tuning under variations in humidity and reducing string fatigue at high playing frequencies. The silver-plated copper wiring of the four basses produces a clear, direct timbre, without the metallic haze of aged alloys.
The 7th string can be positioned in three tunings - A, B or C - to cover the bass extensions specific to Yamandu Costa's Brazilian and classic jazz repertoire. The bass strings are individually wrapped with anti-oxidation paper to prolong the reactivity of the wiring between uses, a detail that counts on an instrument of this calibre.

Yamandu Costa was born in Passo Fundo, Brazil, in 1980. Self-taught, he established himself at an early age as one of the greatest virtuosos on the seven-string guitar, the key instrument of choro. Influenced by Dino 7 Cordes and Raphael Rabello, he blends tradition and modernity with spectacular technique. After spending some time in Europe, he went on to collaborate on a number of international concerts. His playing is characterised by great rhythmic freedom, intense expressiveness and an exceptional capacity for improvisation.
