The D'Addario EXL165-6 6-string bass set is designed for Long Scale instruments with a 32-135 drawbar. The Regular Light Top / Medium Bottom configuration balances the tension between the high and low strings. The high notes remain easy to play while the low string retains good power and a firm response.
Each string uses a hexagonal core of high-carbon steel to improve stability and intonation accuracy. Around this core, a nickel-plated steel mesh provides a brilliant attack and excellent sound definition. Bass lines remain clear and articulate across a wide range of musical styles.
This construction ensures a consistent feel from string to string across the entire neck. Bassists can switch from fingerpicking to slapping or picking without losing any consistency. The strings are packaged in a recyclable VCI pouch that provides effective protection against corrosion. A Players Circle code is also present on the packaging to register the product. D'Addario EXL165-6 strings are made in the USA at the D'Addario factory in New York State.
