DAD - MOM

In a modern mixing environment, much of the work is done on screen. Yet some functions are much more effective when handled physically. The DAD by NTP Technology MOM has been designed to do just that: provide direct and immediate monitoring control, without compromising on accuracy.

MOM is not an audio controller in the traditional sense. No signal passes through it. All routing and monitoring management is carried out in compatible DAD systems, such as Core 256, AX64, AX32 or interfaces integrated into Avid environments. The MOM acts as a physical extension of this system, connected via Ethernet, putting essential commands right at your fingertips.

The central element is its high-quality rotary encoder. It has been designed to offer a very fine sense of control, with an LED display for precise level indication. This type of control is particularly useful when adjusting levels in a session, where speed and precision make all the difference.

Around this encoder, the MOM offers a set of programmable keys that can be assigned according to the needs of the studio. Source selection, speaker selection, switching between different monitoring formats, mute, solo, dim or talkback functions: everything can be configured directly from the DADman software. This flexibility means the controller can be adapted to a wide range of workflows, from stereo mixes to immersive set-ups.

The Layer function adds an extra dimension. It allows you to create several control configurations that can be accessed instantly. The same controller can take on different roles depending on the user or the production context. In a shared studio, this means that each engineer can return to his or her own working environment without reconfiguring the whole system.

MOM can also be integrated into more complex environments. It can work in parallel with EUCON surfaces such as Avid systems, with commands synchronised between the different interfaces. It is also possible to use several MOMs in the same installation, making it easier to manage several listening positions, for example between an engineer and a director.
