DBX - ZC-1

The dbx ZC-1 is part of the series of wall-mounted controllers developed for DriveRack and ZonePRO processors designed for fixed audio installations. Its purpose is deliberately simple: to provide a remote volume control that can be accessed directly from a room, reception area, shop, restaurant, conference room or any other space requiring local adjustment of sound level.

Operation is based on analogue DC communication via CAT5 cable and RJ45 connectors. This approach allows for a relatively light installation while maintaining a good deployment distance between the controller and the main processor. In some configurations, the cable length can be up to 1000 feet with parallel cabling using a ZC-BOB.

The ZC-1 uses a programmable rotary potentiometer that can be assigned directly from compatible processors. This avoids the need to add complex control systems when only simple, reliable level control is required in an installation. The controller can therefore be integrated into environments where users only need to access a specific function without intervening in the rest of the audio system.

The DIP switch identification system also makes it easy to integrate several controllers into a single ZonePRO infrastructure. Each controller is associated with a specific position via switches located on the rear of the device. This method simplifies identification and configuration when installing several audio zones.

The wall-mounted format is discreet and suitable for permanent installations. The ZC-1 can be used in commercial spaces, schools, places of worship, multi-purpose halls or corporate facilities where limited and secure user control is required.
