DBX - ZC7 EU

The DBX ZC7 EU is a wall-mounted controller designed for DBX ZonePRO public address systems, with a function specifically designed for paging and voice announcement applications. The idea is to place the control directly where it is needed, rather than requiring the operator to go to the audio processor or use a computer to make an announcement.

In a public-facing establishment, this capability can significantly simplify day-to-day operations. Consider a hotel equipped with several audio zones: reception, restaurant, lobby and meeting rooms. The ZC7 EU can be installed in a strategic location so that a member of staff can make an announcement and select the paging assignment specified in the ZonePRO configuration. The control remains accessible whilst leaving the programming and audio distribution under the control of the processor.

The same principle can be applied in a shopping centre, a shop, a school, a place of worship or an events venue. When an announcement needs to be broadcast to a specific zone, the controller provides immediate, physical access to the paging function configured by the integrator.

The Push-to-Talk function ensures a very simple operating logic: the user initiates the broadcast from the controller, whilst the ZonePRO determines the zones and behaviour associated with this command. This avoids the need for multiple steps and minimises the risk of accidentally altering the main audio settings.

The ZC7 EU communicates with the processor via CAT5 or CAT5E, using RJ45 connectors. DIP switches allow it to be identified within the system, which facilitates the integration of multiple controllers. With a ZC-BOB, several units can also be connected in parallel in a large-scale installation.
