Presentation
When one of the world's greatest soloists puts his name on a mouthpiece, you'd think there was something to it; in the case of the Denis Wick WA52 Prestige, it's because it was developed by Steven Mead to answer a simple question: how can we give as many people as possible what the pros use on stage? The answer lies in this silver-plated size 4.
The figures speak for themselves. A bowl diameter of 25.75 mm, a rim width of 6.73 mm and a bore of 7.4 mm. Sound familiar? Translation: you've got room to place your mouthpiece comfortably, and enough support to maintain control over time. The wide rim distributes pressure without tiring. The generous bore lets air through without unnecessary resistance.
The genius of this WA52 Prestige is that it's suitable for all levels. Beginners will find it reassuringly stable, with an air column that guides without rushing. Professionals, on the other hand, will immediately recognise a tool capable of meeting their demands. And between the two? There are all those who want to progress with equipment that won't limit them.
Pedigree? It's solid. This mouthpiece can be found on stages all over the world, in the hands of musicians who play with Steven Mead or who have simply adopted his approach.

Born in Bournemouth in 1962, Steven Mead has revolutionised the perception of the euphonium. Having started out as a chorister, his playing is distinguished by its melodic and singing quality. A true ambassador for his instrument, he has considerably enriched its repertoire, commissioning over 300 works and performing over 500 world premieres. To maintain his artistic independence, he founded his own record label. An avid fisherman, he also revealed his admiration for Freddie Mercury in 2024.
