The hexagonal steel core has a patented groove: it holds the string in place, limits play and prevents fuzz. The result? Even tension and solid chord holding, even under heavy attack.
The stainless steel wiring gives a clear, sharp attack, with that famous metallic 'chime' sought after by finger or slap players. DR has added its Dragon Skin+ micro-coating, which is virtually invisible, but resistant to long sessions and sweaty hands.
The first three strings (B, E, A) are designed for extended tuning forks up to 37 inches - a detail often overlooked, but treated seriously here.
