The 'Performance Black' version of Elipson's Planet L is striking at first glance: a deep, lacquered black that catches the light with elegance, an inimitable spherical shape that evokes both the boldness of contemporary design and the seriousness of acoustic engineering.
On the technical side, Elipson leaves nothing to chance: the coaxial driver, the real engine of this loudspeaker, combines a 165 mm cellulose pulp bass-midrange with a 25 mm silk tweeter, both powered by a neodymium magnet for a coherent, precise, distortion-free sound image, even at high volume.
DAR technology, exclusive to Elipson, ensures perfectly controlled suspension of the loudspeaker, even at peak dynamics. In use, this translates into impressive power handling, a fast and responsive response, and a soundstage that remains stable whatever the track.
Compared to the original Planet L, this black lacquered 'Performance' version pushes the envelope much further. The internal crossover has been redesigned using carefully selected audiophile components: MKP/MKT capacitors, low-resistance inductors, etc. Everything has been thought out to optimise frequency separation, reduce coloration and preserve every nuance.
