Guitar Strings

Elixir 13015 Folk String à l'unité 015 The Elixir 13015 is a single solid steel folk string, unspun, 15 gauge, protected by the PolyWeb coating. A single string that transmits a round, warm sound with corrosion resistance that extends its life far beyond that of a standard bare string.

ARTICLE N° 121059
The Elixir 13015 comes into contact with the saddle and bridge like a rail stretched between two fixed points: the solid, unspun steel at 15 gauge transmits the vibration straight to the soundboard, with no spiral to filter or colour the fundamental. In live sessions or mics, this string occupies the high end of the spectrum with a roundness that raw steel alone does not produce - the PolyWeb coating dampens the most aggressive harmonics and lets the warm, round sound settle in without parasitic lightening.

Under the thumb or pick, the 15 gauge gives a frank resistance: neither soft nor rigid, the string responds with a calibrated physical return that stabilises the attack when strumming hard. The PolyWeb surface glides under the pulp without dry friction - the fingering changes position without catching, and the hand remains mobile on the neck.

This anti-corrosion armouring seals the solid steel against sweat and humidity: the sound doesn't tarnish between two sessions, and the string retains its round tone session after session.
