Elokance - Orus 212A Array

The elokance Orus 212A Array is a dual 12-inch active line array module designed for events where simply pushing two floor-standing speakers to their limits is not enough. Whether for concerts, festivals, outdoor events, multi-purpose venues or permanent installations, it provides the power reserve and directivity needed to create a professional sound system capable of projecting sound over long distances.

Its low-frequency section features two 12-inch neodymium woofers, each fitted with a 3-inch voice coil. This design delivers impact in the bass and body to the low-midrange – two essential frequency bands for maintaining an energetic sound as the listening distance increases. The high-frequency section utilises two 5.3-inch transducers with titanium diaphragms and 2-inch voice coils. Vocals, guitars, brass and the finer details of the mix thus remain clear against a powerful rhythm section.

The Class D amplifier delivers 800 W RMS to the LF drivers and 400 W RMS to the HF section. The maximum power output is 1,600 W and 800 W respectively. The Orus 212A Array can therefore produce a peak SPL of up to 138 dB, which is more than enough to drive a full-scale mix with a comfortable margin before the front-of-house system starts to struggle.

The integrated DSP handles signal processing and utilises FIR filters. These help to control phase and maintain a consistent response across the different channels. The specified frequency response of 55 Hz to 20 kHz allows the module to operate across a wide range, whilst a subwoofer can boost the very low frequencies for live, electronic or DJ applications.

Its horizontal coverage of 90° and vertical coverage of 10° facilitates the creation of a line array. Multiple modules can be oriented to adapt the sound distribution to the depth and geometry of the venue. The audience thus benefits from more even coverage, without unnecessary sound spill onto the ceiling or walls.

XLR input and output connectors facilitate signal transmission between system components. Passive radiator cooling eliminates the need for a fan, thereby minimising mechanical noise and reducing maintenance. Finally, the multi-layer plywood enclosure provides the rigidity required to house the four transducers and withstand the stresses of regular use at events.
