Evolite - R-DMX USB

The evolite R-DMX USB simplifies the setup of a wireless DMX link between compatible lighting equipment. Its compact design combines a male USB-A connector, the transmission electronics and a dedicated antenna within a discreet housing. Once plugged into a USB-A port designed to accommodate a wireless DMX dongle, it allows control data to be transmitted or received without the need to run a DMX cable between devices.

Its bidirectional design is one of its key advantages. The R-DMX USB can function as either a transmitter or a receiver, depending on the system configuration. This makes it possible to establish a wireless link between a DMX source and a compatible projector, and then adapt the network architecture to the requirements of the stage, club, event or temporary installation.

The system operates in the 2.402 to 2.480 GHz frequency band. It utilises the ISM band across 79 channels, with a maximum RF transmission power of 23 dBm. This architecture is designed to ensure stable transmission of control data in environments where running a DMX cable is impractical or difficult.

In unobstructed conditions, the maximum advertised range is 100 metres. This distance provides sufficient headroom for a wide range of performance scenarios, from a mobile control room to a stage setup spread across several areas. The actual range naturally depends on the environment, obstacles and local radio conditions.

The R-DMX USB supports Wi-DMX, WDMX and GZ compatibility protocols. This flexibility facilitates its integration into various compatible wireless DMX ecosystems. It is particularly suitable for set-ups where several projectors need to communicate without the need for long signal cables on the floor or on a structure.

It is powered directly by 5 VDC via the USB port. No external power supply is therefore required when the host device provides the appropriate power. Its compact dimensions of just 40 x 20 x 10 mm also minimise the space taken up around the projector or control equipment.

The evolite R-DMX USB is therefore a compact solution for lighting contractors, mobile DJs, technicians and integrators who wish to minimise the DMX cabling in their compatible systems. In particular, it can be used with the evolite EVO Spot 200, Mac Mah Mac Spot 200 and Mac Mah Mac Wash 1915Z-R, subject to the specified compatibility.
