Presentation
The Telecaster is one of those guitars that's instantly recognisable, even from a distance. Here, Fender's American Professional Classic Faded Black takes on that familiar silhouette, but with a slightly aged finish and tortoiseshell pickguard that give it a more mature character. It doesn't try to shine or draw the eye with extravagance: it remains simple, straightforward and functional.
Beneath this sober appearance are two Coastline '63 pickups, giving the guitar a fairly broad sound palette. The bridge position provides the Tele's typical cutting edge, dry but precise, perfect for rock, blues or edgy rhythms.
In the neck position, the sound becomes rounder without losing definition, so this guitar also works very well with softer lines or clean work. The three-position selector and Greasebucket circuit allow you to fine-tune the sound without darkening the signal when you lower the tone.
The Modern C neck, rosewood fingerboard with 9.5" radius and jumbo medium frets give easy access to bends, chords and slides.
There's nothing to get in the way, nothing to be surprised about: it's a natural fit from the first few minutes. The vintage bridge with three brass bridges and through-body string routing add to the authentic Tele feel, while providing a reliable hold.
With its bag included, this Tele is aimed at musicians who are attached to the classic sound, but still want a guitar that's pleasant and modern under the fingers.

To find out more...
The American Professional Classic series takes the essence of Fender's historic models and adapts them to today's musicians. Since 1946, the brand has been as much a fixture on the garage scene as in surf and indie studios, and this Telecaster is clearly part of that continuity: a familiar sound, but designed for more contemporary playing.
A few accessories can make all the difference. A light overdrive will bring out the character of the Coastline '63 pickups without muffling them, and having an extra set of strings to hand saves a lot of interruptions. If you want to preserve its appearance over time, a microfibre cloth and a suitable cleaning product are all you need to keep the finish clean and even.
