Focal's Shape 50 is an 85W monitoring loudspeaker with a 5" woofer and 1" tweeter designed for use in close listening for home studio applications. The low midrange and midrange frequencies are extremely neutral, with no masking effect, making it much easier to equalise these ever-critical registers.

The Focal Shape 50 features integrated TMD enclosures and dual passive radiators that increase low-frequency response and harmonic stability. The radiators allow flexible adjustment of low frequencies and deliver depth of field even when the speaker is placed close to a wall.
A passive radiator represents the advantages of a bass-reflex event, without the disadvantages of induced turbulence. A passive radiator comes into its own when the port size required to obtain the desired low-frequency output cannot be physically installed inside the cabinet.
Fitted with a 5-inch glass-fibre driver cone offering extreme definition of the midrange and low frequencies with minimal distortion, the Focal Shape 50 loudspeaker also features an M-shaped aluminium-magnesium inverted dome tweeter that offers astonishing neutrality below 6 kHz.
The amplification is entirely analogue, operating in Class A/B with 25W dedicated to its tweeter and 60W to the bass. Precision amplification includes high and low frequency shelving and a 160 Hz crossover tilt.
