The roto-moulded construction of the case combines solidity and lightness in the same computer-assisted machining gesture. Its large storage capacity, measuring 1067 × 406 × 343 mm, accommodates stands in the extended position - cymbal stands no longer need to be dismantled between dates. The structural grain of high-density polyethylene absorbs loading shock where a laminated shell would crack; the spring-loaded handles stop at 90 degrees and lock the grip into even a gloved palm. Adjustable two-inch straps with high-tension buckles compress the load against the moulded walls and distribute the weight evenly: nothing slips, nothing drums on the road.
In the column, interlocking stacking grooves lock the Grooves units into each other - each notched edge holds the level where a sloping backstage floor would attempt to destabilise the whole. Moulded side handles extend the natural movement of the arm to extract each case from the stack without the need for leverage. This stacking system, compatible with the entire Grooves range, transforms an improvised warehouse of flight cases into a monolithic column that doesn't wobble.
