The GHS CR-GBL Sub-Zero Boomers string set undergoes a liquid nitrogen treatment at very low temperature. The strings are then slowly raised to normal temperature to stabilise the metal. This step reduces wear from playing and wet conditions. It also helps to keep the tuning more reliable over time.
The round steel purfling provides a clean attack and good note-by-note definition. The treble remains precise and the bass keeps its hold without becoming fuzzy. The 10-13-17-26-36-46 drawbar offers a good balance between comfort and control under the fingers.
