The D’Addario XSAPB1253JC 12-53 Light strings explore territory that few guitarists venture into: the symmetrical five-string tuning devised by Jacob Collier in collaboration with Taylor Guitars. Andy Powers personally selected the gauges for this five-string set – ranging from .012 to .053 inches – to achieve the DAEAD tuning specific to this guitar.
The round-wound phosphor bronze strings feature an XS coating – an ultra-thin film that keeps the texture crisp under the fingers – whilst a polymer treatment protects the unwound strings. Beneath this coating, the NY Steel core combines with Fusion Twist technology, which boosts breaking strength and increases tuning stability by 131 per cent compared to standard acoustic strings.
Manufactured in New York and supplied in a recyclable VCI pouch with a Players Circle code, these strings boast the longest lifespan in the D’Addario acoustic range.
