Gibson Hummingbird Standard Southwestern Turquoise The Gibson Hummingbird Standard is finished in a striking Southwestern Turquoise, a colour that perfectly complements its folk and rock character. Its solid Sitka spruce top and solid mahogany body produce a rich tone, with full bass and clear treble. Under the nut, the L.R. Baggs VTC piezo pickup then takes over to carry this sound from rehearsal to the stage.

Presentation
Gibson presents the Hummingbird Standard, an acoustic folk guitar first created in Nashville, USA, whose Hummingbird shape retains the distinctive curve that has left its mark on the American folk scene. The solid Sitka spruce top features a fine gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finish, edged with 5-ply binding, whilst the 24.75-inch scale length softens the tension of the strings beneath the fingers.
The rounded mahogany neck is joined to the body via a compound-radius dovetail joint, glued with hot hide glue, and houses an adjustable truss rod that maintains the guitar’s stability throughout the seasons. The Indian rosewood fingerboard, with a 12-inch radius, lends itself to barre chords, and its 20 standard frets remain clearly visible beneath the parallelogram-shaped mother-of-pearl inlays. The 43.82 mm wide TUSQ nut allows ample space between the strings, whilst the Grover Rotomatic tuners ensure stable tuning from one concert to the next.
The solid mahogany back and sides add density to the midrange, framed by a three-strip binding that outlines the body’s clean contours. Inside, the scalloped X-bracing allows the top to vibrate freely without compromising projection. The rosewood Reverse Belly bridge, with its TUSQ tuning pegs and TUSQ nut, transmits the vibration of the strings to the entire body, whilst the 1.52 mm Hummingbird pickguard protects the top without adding bulk.
Beneath the nut, the LR Baggs VTC piezo pickup converts the sound into a signal, whilst the LR Baggs VTC active preamp, with its volume and tone controls mounted in the rosette, allows you to adjust the settings without taking your eyes off the guitar. The 6.35 mm jack output on the strap button keeps your hands free on stage, whilst the nickel hardware ensures this instrument stands the test of time through concert after concert.
Finished in Southwestern Turquoise, this Hummingbird comes with a set of .012 to .053 strings, a Gibson hard case, a black and white double-layer truss rod cover, two strap buttons and mother-of-pearl inlays of the Gibson logo and crown on the headstock.
