Since 1942, the J-45 has epitomised Gibson’s acoustic heritage. Born in the Kalamazoo workshop, it has earned the nickname ‘Workhorse’ thanks to its understated design and instantly recognisable tone. Gibson carries on this legacy with instruments handcrafted in its American workshops. This continuity – encompassing heritage, carefully selected woods and craftsmanship – explains why the J-45 remains sought after by guitarists generation after generation.

- The Sitka spruce top is paired with a rosewood body to create an acoustic design distinct from the traditional J-45.

- The hand-carved X-bracing draws on a historic Gibson construction method.

- The mahogany neck features the SlimTaper profile with an Indian rosewood fingerboard.

- The L.R. Baggs VTC system incorporates a pickup under the bridge, a preamp and volume and tone controls.

- The rosewood bridge, gold-plated Grover Rotomatic tuners and tortoiseshell pickguard reflect the model’s signature styling.
