The Gibson Les Paul Custom Alpine White embodies the pinnacle of luxury and performance. This sophisticated take on the classic Les Paul features striking black and white aesthetics, a high-gloss nitrocellulose finish and gold hardware.

The body features a solid mahogany back and a two-piece maple top, providing the perfect balance of warmth and brightness. The 9-hole weight relief enhances playing comfort without sacrificing the legendary Les Paul sustain.
The mahogany neck, with a modern Medium C profile, is fitted with a luxurious ebony fingerboard adorned with mother-of-pearl block inlays, ensuring smooth and fast playability.
For tone, the Les Paul Custom is equipped with two iconic humbucker pickups. The 490R in the neck position delivers rich, warm tones, perfect for melodic leads and deep chords.
In the bridge position, the 498T Alnico 5 offers high power and a sharp attack, ideal for punchy riffs and intense solos.

Peu de gens le savent mais les Les Paul Custom Alpine White étaient fabriquées à l'usine de Memphis jusqu'à ce que l'usine ferme fin 2018. Depuis, toute la production de Memphis a été transférée à l'usine de Nashville et à en juger par le nombre impressionnant de guitares MOD avec de gros défauts de finition (binding notamment) proposées chaque semaine sur le site de Gibson, j'ai l'impression que la marque a dû rembaucher de nouveaux employés et qu'ils ont encore du pain sur la planche pour se former. Pour une guitare vendue généralement neuve autour de 5000€, je trouve le niveau de finition inacceptable. Les bindings (manche et table) sont d'une manière générale trop grattés et présentent plusieurs marques d'outil. Le switch a été tordu au montage (oui je suis maniaque et j'inspecte les cavités des guitares que j'achète). En dehors de ça, la guitare est plutôt bien équilibrée, malgré ses 4,6kg sur la balance, elle ne les fait pas lorsqu'on la manipule car le poids est bien réparti entre le corps et le manche. Le sustain est vraiment bon sur l'exemplaire que j'ai acheté. A savoir: la finition Alpine White est l'une des plus fragile chez Gibson. Elle a tendance à réagir avec les stands, ce qui provoque des tâches rougeâtres. Les UVs vont également vite faire jaunir la guitare.
