Presentation
The Godin Artisan ST-III Black Mint is a Canadian-made guitar, designed for musicians who want a reliable instrument with a distinctive look. Its American basswood body is topped with a curly maple top that showcases the Black Mint finish, with its charming contrast of black and mint green. The Artisan double-cutaway silhouette makes it easy to access all 22 frets and ensures the guitar feels comfortable as soon as you spend a little time playing it. The case supplied makes it easy to transport between rehearsals and gigs.
The bolt-on flamed maple neck provides a consistent and stable playing feel along its entire length. The maple fingerboard, 12" radius and 25.5" scale length offer familiar reference points for playing chords and solos without having to adjust. The Graphtech nut contributes to tuning accuracy and comfort under the fingers. The 18:1 locking tuners enhance stability, particularly when using the tremolo.
The pickup configuration remains true to the series’ versatile ethos, featuring two Seymour Duncan SCR-1N Cool Rails in the neck and middle positions, and an SHR-1B Hot Rails in the bridge position. The 5-way selector switch allows you to switch quickly between different tonal colours depending on the song. The controls remain simple, with just volume and tone, which gets straight to the essentials without complicating your playing. The whole system operates without a 9V battery, which avoids an additional hassle during live performances.
The Godin Tru-Loc tremolo with a brass sustain block completes a guitar designed to remain stable even under intensive use. The body, woodwork and hardware follow the design philosophy of the Artisan series, with a consistent and precise build. The .010–.046 gauge strings provide a classic balance that’s easy to get to grips with.
