Presentation
The Godin DS-1 Daryl Stuermer Signature guitar was developed to the specifications of the guitarist known for his collaborations with Genesis and Phil Collins. Its double-chambered American basswood body reduces the instrument’s weight whilst maintaining dynamic response, whilst the AA-grade flamed maple top lends it a distinctive visual appeal with its high-gloss translucent red finish.
The mahogany neck features a Richlite fingerboard with a 16" (406.4 mm) radius and a 25.5" (647.7 mm) scale length, ideal for precise playing and soloing techniques. The nut width of 42.8625 mm and the Graphtech TUSQ™ nut contribute to playing comfort along the entire length of the neck. The tuning machines have different ratios on each side, with an 18:1 ratio for the bass strings and a 26:1 ratio for the treble strings.
The guitar is fitted with a Seymour Duncan Jazz SH-2N neck pickup and a Seymour Duncan Custom SH-11P bridge pickup. The SH-2N uses an Alnico V magnet to produce clear trebles, defined mids and precise bass, whilst the SH-11P captures the spirit of PAF pickups with an Alnico II magnet, delivering greater presence in the mids and attack in the trebles.
The 5-position selector switch, combined with the Volume and Tone controls and the HDR system, allows you to quickly change sound settings whilst playing. The Godin Tru-Loc Trem vibrato system with a brass sustain block uses a high-tensile steel plate and blade to maintain mechanical stability and enhance vibration transmission.
