Signal Processor Accessories
Although the Continuum, ContinuuMini, EaganMatrix and Osmose modules can work with standard Midi-to-Control-Voltage devices, Haken Audio has developed its own high-resolution Control Voltage Converter. The CVC MKIII generates control voltage signals adapted to interact harmoniously with analogue synthesizer systems, whether old or new.

Presentation
Optimised to take advantage of the fast data rates and wide ranges of the brand's instruments, the CVC MKIII is equipped with sixteen 1/4" control voltage outputs, meticulously designed to bring a new dimension to your musical performances.
Packed with advanced features, it offers ultra-fast communication thanks to built-in i2c chips, establishing a data rate of 400 kHz with Continuum, ContinuuMini or Osmose. Cabling is simplified with DIN5 and 3.5 mm i2c connection options, enabling direct connection with all generations of Continuums, ContinuuMini, EaganMatrix and Osmose modules, without the need for custom cables.
High resolution is the order of the day, supporting 8-octave pitch bend (96 semitones) at full Continuum resolution of 1 cent. Each individual control voltage output is fed by 16-bit digital-to-analogue converters, ensuring accurate reproduction.
The CVC requires no external filter for noise suppression, as it has been specifically designed to handle rapid updates of Continuum parameters, eliminating unwanted tones.
Explore New Sonic Possibilities
The CVC's 'Base Voice' function allows subsets of CVC outputs to be activated, paving the way for smooth transitions between different configurations. In addition, the CVC can output control signals from incoming Midi data, accurately capturing and reproducing your performance.
Customise your CVC experience. Whether you have specific preferences for voltage ranges or want to explore a variety of configurations, the CVC can switch between different setups through special interaction with the Continuum Play Surface or Continuum Editor. In addition, the EaganMatrix can create up to 8 fully customised control voltages for seamless integration into your analogue performance.
With Haken Audio's Control Voltage Converter (CVC), transform your analogue synthesiser into an expressive instrument, opening the doors to unlimited sonic creativity.

CVC RAISON D'ÊTRE
Before CVC
Even before CVC, it was possible to control analogue synths using the Continuum Midi output via a standard Midi-CV converter. This can work quite well, but in practice it's very difficult to configure everything optimally for Continuum. The data coming out of the Continuum is standard Midi, but it's so different from a keyboard and other MPE controllers that most people were getting their Midi-CVs set up 'almost right', not 'exactly right'. From Haken Audio's point of view, this was very frustrating, as so much time and effort had gone into perfecting the Continuum's Midi functionality. Typical problems people encountered with Midi-CVs were: the Continuum's response is slow, or the Continuum isn't tuned properly, or slight zipping/rattling noises in the control signals, etc. is",
A dedicated hardware device
The CVC was developed so that analogue synthesizers could concentrate on their Continuum playing technique and sound patches - and not spend so much time and effort playing with a Midi-CV. The CVC is the best product that Haken Audio can currently design. The CVC is enhanced for Continuum and works with Continuums, ContinuuMinis, EaganMatrix and Osmose modules; the CVC does not support other Midi devices. Controlling an analogue synth from other Midi controllers in addition to Continuum will always require a standard Midi-CV. Controlling an analogue synth from a Continuum via the CVC will give the best possible response time and accuracy.
