Radial - Voco-Loco Mk2

The Voco-Loco Mk2 is the latest evolution of the concept devised by Radial Engineering to meet a very specific need: to enable singers and acoustic instrumentalists to use guitar effects pedals in exactly the same way as an electric guitarist. This Mk2 version retains the original principle while improving several key points, both practically and technically.

At the heart of the Voco-Loco Mk2 is a studio-quality microphone preamp, designed to accept both dynamic and static microphones. The integrated 48 V phantom power supply, now more robust, ensures reliable compatibility with the most demanding condenser microphones. The microphone input uses a lockable XLR connector, ensuring a secure connection on stage, even under intensive conditions.

The mic signal is then adapted to be sent to a guitar pedal-format effects loop via 6.35 mm jack connections. Independent send and return level controls optimise the signal-to-noise ratio and prevent any saturation of the pedals, be they delays, reverbs, overdrives, choruses or filters. A dedicated tone control softens overly bright effects, often originally designed for guitar amps rather than full-range systems.

The mix between the original signal and the processed signal is controlled by a wet/dry control, offering great creative freedom in playing situations. Two footswitches control the activation of the effects loop, as well as mute and all-wet functions, particularly useful in live performance.

The Voco-Loco Mk2 can be powered by pedalboard power supplies from 9 to 18 V, and comes with its own 15 V power supply. It's ideal for singers as well as musicians playing saxophone, trumpet or harmonica, who want to explore new sound textures without changing their sound system.
