Amplifier Heads for Guitar

The Hiwatt Park P50M is a tube head that shaped the rock sound of the 70s, with its EL34 and channel 1 brighter thanks to split cathode technology. Its two channels and four inputs offer a modular sound panel with Mitch Colby push/pull potentiometers and the PPIMV. Appreciated for its responsiveness and power output of 50W nominal to 70W cranked, it remains expressive at low volume and has left its mark on the playing of generations of guitarists inspired by Jim Marshall and the rock classics.

A blend of history and innovation, the Park P50M from Hiwatt offers the rock sound of the 70s in a tube head capable of revealing every nuance of play.

Its split cathode technology makes channel 1 particularly bright, allowing your guitar to stand out immediately in the mix, while the tighter power section and enhanced filtering deliver a crisp, accurate playing feel.

Every note, from clean strumming to deep saturation, is revealed with articulation and nuance, even at moderate volumes.

Equipped with EL34 tubes, the P50M retains the classic British character that has shaped British rock, with a dynamic response faithful to the guitarist's touch.

Its two channels and four inputs offer great sonic flexibility: you can combine channels to enrich the tonal palette or exploit each channel individually for a precise, direct sound.

The Mitch Colby push/pull potentiometers and the DIPP allow you to sculpt the sound as you wish, modulating the midrange or adjusting the brightness for subtle crunch or more saturation, always with a natural feel.

In keeping with Park's heritage, the P50M is entirely hand-wired and finished in black Tolex, ensuring a solid, elegant product both on stage and in the studio.

Its pivotal role between the P45 and PMV makes it a historic yet practical amp, capable of revealing every nuance of your playing and responding to every situation, from incisive riffs to melodic solos.

To play a P50M is to feel a generation of rock in your fingers, with precision, power and musicality!

Jim Marshall is best known for running a shop where local musicians could meet, swap and try out equipment. He sold his amps worldwide under the Marshall brand, but in the UK he used the name Park Amplifiers. The shop served as a valuable testing ground for new products and kept Jim in touch with the exploding UK music scene. Park amps, often described as 'a bit hotter', are highly sought after in the UK as they are much rarer than their Marshall-branded equivalents.

Mitch Colby has devoted his life to working with Marshall Amplification and has spent a dozen years perfecting the Park range. He's taken the best existing circuits and painstakingly recreated the original sounds and tonal signature of Jim's early days. In addition, Mitch has designed four new amplifiers to carry on the spirit and incredible legacy of Jim Marshall and the Park Amplifiers.
