The Ibanez JS2480-WH Japan White is a signature electric guitar designed for the most ambitious sonic acrobatics. Its Sustainiac pickup in the neck position opens the door to infinite sustain, while the Satchur8 DiMarzio in the bridge responds to the slightest attack. The 3-piece maple/bubinga neck has a slim, slightly asymmetrical profile for velocity without sacrificing comfort. Presentation
As for the neck, it's all too easy. The asymmetrical JS profile hugs the hand without rushing it, and the medium frets, combined with the Prestige treatment, let you glide to the end of the 24 fret range with disconcerting fluidity. Even the bends hesitate to come back down once you've reached the top.
The humbucker duo wasn't chosen by tossing a coin. The Sustainiac in the neck, which can be activated via a push/pull and a 3-position mini-switch, gives access to a controllable, almost infinite sustain, which is great for held notes, spectral strings or solos that refuse to stop. At the other end of the scale, the DiMarzio Satchur8 is a real beast: edgy, sharp, and always ready to roar without screaming.
The Edge vibrato completes the picture with a precision that never lets you down, even after a few Steve Vai-style flights of lyricism on steroids. And its Ultralite carbon stem is the kind of detail that makes you say "Oh yeah, all the same". The Gotoh mechanics, on the other hand, ensure stability behind the scenes without blustering.
