JBL's SRX918S subwoofer, designed for modern Line Array configurations, lays a solid and legible foundation, with a controlled energy that can be felt as well as heard. Its amplified format makes it easy to set up and naturally accompanies the systems in the SRX900 series, in a fluid, coherent logic. Each impulse descends low, remains clean, retains breath and supports the mix without weighing it down. On stage or in front of an audience, this model blends in elegantly, while retaining its true sonic personality. A serious base, calibrated to deliver low frequencies methodically, with just the right amount of character to make a few heads nod along the way.
Presentation
This design favours a smooth, even bass response, capable of going down to 35 Hz with a feeling of permanent control, even when the level rises sharply.
The bass-reflex design with large vents improves airflow and limits the turbulence audible at high levels. As a result, the bass remains legible and structured, and blends naturally into the overall mix.
With its integrated amplification and DSP, the SRX918S by JBL simplifies operation in the field, while maintaining consistent sonic coherence from system to system. Settings include filters, extended delays up to 2000ms and FIR processing, designed to precisely align subs with the rest of the system. Direct access from the LCD screen or via software turns optimisation into a natural, almost intuitive process.
The acoustic compatibility of JBL's SRX918S with all SRX900 full-range loudspeakers opens up a wide range of configurations, from floorstanding stacks to more elaborate systems. Omnidirectional or cardioid modes are easily selected via preset, allowing coverage to be adapted to stage or neighbourhood constraints.
