The Laney Digbeth Foundry DBF200 is for bassists who are beginning to feel that their amp needs to follow a little harder, a little wider, especially as the band gets bigger.

With its 200 watts and 15-inch driver, it provides a more solid base in the lower registers, while maintaining good playability. In rehearsals or on stage, the sound remains stable and maintains its presence without needing to push the amp to its limits.

As with the rest of the series, you'll find an architecture designed to build your sound simply. The FET channel keeps the sound clean and precise, while the drive channel adds grit when you want to give your playing more character. The mix control between the two channels helps you find a balance without having to choose between definition and energy.

The preshape gives a deeper sound contour in a single gesture, handy when you need to stand out quickly in a busy mix. Tilt then acts as a global adjustment that refocuses the sound towards greater clarity or fullness, depending on the context.

On a day-to-day basis, the DBF200 remains practical to use. The auxiliary input lets you play tracks, the headphone output makes it easy to work silently, and the DI output sends a signal that can be used directly on a console or for recording. The effects loop leaves plenty of room for external pedals. The combo format eliminates the need for complex set-ups, while retaining a solution powerful enough to keep pace with the evolution of a band without changing equipment too quickly.

Laney is a British amplification brand founded in the 60s, born in a garage like many of the big names in audio. Initially very much focused on rock and the 'British' sound, the brand has made a name for itself with amplifiers used in both classic and very heavy contexts, particularly in rock and metal.

Over the years, Laney has retained this 'musician first' base: amplifiers designed to be played, not complicated, with a real field logic. The seriousness of the manufacturing process and the quest for versatility have become a hallmark of the brand.

The Digbeth Foundry series takes up this DNA, but in a more accessible version. The idea is simple: to offer modern bass amps with useful functions (drive, mix, EQ, DI, headphones, etc.) without making the approach complicated. It's a range designed to go from working at home to more serious gigs, without changing equipment.
