The H7 VS is a semi-hollow, double-cutaway electric guitar based on the Les Paul format, in particular the legendary 335. Its clear tone and brilliant sustain give it a distinctive sound, plus a number of custom features resulting from Larry Carlton's own experience, such as rounded fingerboard edges for maximum comfort and playability. To create a guitar with a signature sound, Larry Carlton fitted the H7 VS with two humbucking pickups. Configured in this way, the instrument creates not only recognisable clarity and sustain, but also the harmonics essential for comfortable blues, rock and jazz playing.
The artist has also paid great attention to playing comfort by incorporating rounded fingerboard edges, usually found on top-of-the-range basses. These improve the ergonomics of the H7 VS, making the neck feel better in the hand.
