To find out more...
Born in Brooklyn, Marcus Miller grew up in a rich musical environment. His father was a church organist and encouraged his musical apprenticeship from an early age. Marcus began on the clarinet before choosing the electric bass as his principal instrument. In the 1980s, he became one of the most sought-after studio musicians in the United States. He played on albums by Michael Jackson, Chaka Khan and George Benson. His recognisable style blends slap technique, funk grooves and sophisticated jazz harmonies. Even today, he inspires thousands of bassists around the world with his exceptional musical creativity.
