In a home cinema or audiovisual installation, it's not uncommon to run out of optical inputs on the amplifier. The Nedis ASWI2514BK responds precisely to this need by allowing up to four Toslink digital audio sources to be grouped together on a single output.
The box supports S/PDIF transmission and accepts uncompressed LPCM streams up to 192 kHz as well as Dolby and DTS multichannel formats. This compatibility makes it easy to connect media players, games consoles, televisions or digital audio interfaces.
The optical link guarantees transmission that is insensitive to electromagnetic interference, which is particularly useful in environments where there is a lot of electronic equipment. The switch supports optical cable lengths of up to 5 metres while preserving signal integrity.
The source can be selected manually using the front panel button or remotely using the supplied remote control, making it easy to operate in a fixed installation. The device works with the included 5 V DC mains adapter.
With its metal casing and discreet format, the ASWI2514BK is easy to integrate into a home cinema system, a multimedia console or an audio system requiring several optical inputs.
