The NS Design CR-M 5-string extends the capabilities of the traditional electric double bass by adding an extra string. This extended treble range multiplies melodic and harmonic possibilities. It is indispensable for modern jazz, contemporary music and amplified performances that demand a full spectrum of sound. Double bassists are given the freedom to explore and enrich their lines and textures.

The body and neck are made from solid maple, with a flamed maple top. This construction ensures exceptional stability and a precise response, perfectly withstanding additional tension. The ebony fingerboard is discreetly marked for easy navigation along its entire length. The adjustable truss rod and bridge allow you to adapt the action for expressive arco playing or sustained pizzicato. Access to the upper positions is smooth and comfortable.

The 18V active electronics feature the Polar Piezo system and EMG magnetic pickups. The Piezo faithfully captures the nuances of bowing and pizzicato, while the EMGs provide a timbre reminiscent of electric bass, ideal for modern grooves. The balance between these two sources and the precise EQ controls give the musician the power to adjust the sound in real time.
