Its flat yarn eliminates friction noise when bowed, while delivering a full, balanced sound that's naturally powerful. A string sold individually, to replace exactly what you need.

A string is a dialogue between wood, metal and air; the NS Design FLB in B, born of a partnership with D'Addario, takes this dialogue very seriously - and you can hear it from the very first note drawn from the bow.
The choice of flat wire is not insignificant. Where a round wire generates microfriction that interferes with the sound of the electric bow, the smooth surface of the flat wire lets the sound express itself without interference. The result is a clean, direct timbre with no parasitic hitch. The bass has weight, the treble remains clean.
Optimised for low and high frequencies, this reference keeps its promises throughout the range of the electric double bass. In an amplified orchestra, in a studio session, or on stage with a bow, the naturally powerful sound is not diluted in the mix - it settles in.
