The Ortofon MC Diamond phono cell is a real revolution in the world of vinyl playback. Ortofon has made it the nec plus ultra of moving coil cartridges, offering sound reproduction of exceptional precision and musicality, surpassing any other cartridge available on the market.

Presentation
The MC Diamond cell is equipped with a diamond cantilever, combined with the Ortofon Replicant 100 diamond. This combination offers exceptional transparency and responsiveness, enabling the finest details of recorded music to be reproduced. Low frequencies are deep and powerful, mids are clear and balanced, and highs are brilliant and detailed.
Ortofon has equipped it with a newly improved wide-range armature damping system, which offers enhanced vibration control. The use of thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) compound in the bottom cover assembly attenuates system resonances.
The optimised geometry of the magnet system, combined with neodymium and iron-cobalt materials, ensures unrivalled consistency of flux density. The optimised design ensures a uniform distribution of the magnetic field, preserving the dynamics and linearity of the pulses. The use of a lightweight, non-magnetic armature improves dynamic capability.
Precise configuration is crucial to maximising the sonic performance of the MC Diamond. Alignment, azimuth adjustment, traction control and VTA are all parameters to consider. The stylus tilt angle (SRA) is particularly important for the mant, requiring careful attention for optimum performance.
With an output impedance of 6 ohms and a low-to-medium output voltage of 0.2 mV, the MC Diamond is compatible with most MC phono preamps and step-up transformers. It is ideal for use with a high mass tone arm with cardan bearing.
