The Pearl Decade Maple Jazz Satin Black Burst features the dimensions we particularly appreciate in a Jazz kit, with an 18" x 14" bass drum that keeps the set relatively compact. It comes with a 12" x 8" tom, a 14" x 14" floor tom and a 14" x 5.5" snare drum. The shells are made entirely of maple and constructed from six plies, each 5.4 mm thick. This choice delivers a warm, balanced tone with a rich range of nuances. The tuning also offers plenty of scope to shift from a rounder sound to a tighter, more precise response.

The 1.6 mm deep-drawn steel hoops and NDL shells contribute to the overall sound, whilst the OptiLoc mounting system holds the toms in place without restricting their resonance. The bass drum, meanwhile, features a mini-muffler, which is useful for reducing or controlling resonance when you want a more controlled attack.

The Satin Black Burst finish gives this version an elegant and understated look, with chrome hardware completing the ensemble. The HWP-830 pack includes the Demonator P-930 bass drum pedal, a BC-830 mixed cymbal stand, a C-830 upright cymbal stand, an S-830 snare stand and an H-830 hi-hat stand.
