The Pearl PBKENCH01 carillon is part of the Awakening series, dedicated to natural, expressive textures. It uses kenari nuts, known for their hard, hollow shells with a triangular shape. Each nut acts like a small sound chamber when it is set in motion.
This model is made up of 26 strings, each fitted with 6 carefully hand-tied nuts. The whole ensemble is suspended from a mahogany crossbar that is both attractive and stable. This support adds a real visual presence to a percussion set.
The sound is soft, organic and slightly grainy, with a sensation of continuous movement. It has a natural place in world music, jazz, ambient or soundtracks.
