All benefiting from the known characteristics essential for the RØDE VideoMic, the new version has better management of noise through more effective suspension cage and a cable connection of a higher quality.

To recap, the RØDE VideoMic is a professional barrel monaural microphone designed specifically for use with digital video cameras, such as, for example, the Sennheiser MKE 400 Ultra light, robust construction, it is low noise and provides a band wide bandwidth and a controllable directivity.

The Videomic is a shotgun-type electret cardioid super. It is powered by a standard 9V battery whose charge is controlled by a LED and allows over 100 hours of battery life. A switchable high-pass filter is used to reduce unwanted low frequency noise. It delivers a microphone signal to fix the cable and microphone with a 3.5mm mini jack.

To avoid saturation during the recording too powerful sound sources, the Videomic has a Pad (attenuator) switchable, which mitigates -10 or -20 dB the received signal. The VideoMic attaches to any camcorder with an accessory shoe. It comes with a windscreen foam.

The RØDE VideoMic Pro combines very low weight (85 g), a good finish in ABS and no handling noise. With good rejection of sounds from the sides is made to capture distant sounds located ahead in the axis of the microphone, ideal for video recordings, especially with a camcorder. This is an excellent microphone for video artists.
