Powerful sound and realistic expression
The TD-17 module is at the heart of the VAD307. It features a vast collection of vintage and modern drums, cymbals and percussion, all sampled to a very high level of audio detail, with all velocities captured. Roland's unique Prismatic Sound Modeling is combined with these samples to produce a range of complex, realistic sounds and smooth dynamic transitions between hits. The result is an experience that not only sounds acoustically accurate, but also behaves acoustically.

TD-17 sound module: updated and improved
With the latest update, the TD-17 sound module is more powerful than ever. Choose from 70 versatile preset kits developed by professional drummers, including 10 completely new kits and 26 preloaded samples that you can use in your own custom kits. Reverb and Kit Comp effects have also been added, along with 11 more MFX types for shaping drum sounds. And with built-in support for Roland Cloud content, you can expand your playing experience with a growing selection of sounds, samples and custom kits from top V-Drums artists.

Create (and perform) your own drum kit.
The VAD307's preset kits come ready to use, but it's easy to dive deeper and create your ultimate drum setup. Think of the module as a huge warehouse of drums and cymbals from different eras, which you can mix and match to your heart's content. Then change the skins, tweak the tuning, add mutes and even change the virtual space in which you play. Go even further by loading your own samples and combining them with the on-board instruments to create custom kits that no other drummer can claim.

Bigger pads and a wider playing area
Acoustic drums are generally larger than the pads on electronic drums. The size of each drum adds to the overall experience, not only visually, but also in terms of stick feel and physical layout. The VAD307 is equipped with a 12-inch snare and floor tom, two 10-inch rack toms and an 18-inch kick, creating a naturally wide range for maximum playing comfort. The shells are also made of wood, enhancing the authentic acoustic feel under the sticks and drummer.

The natural feel of acoustic drums
Roland's legendary tension-adjustable, multi-ply mesh heads make a significant contribution to the authentic playing feel, giving you a customisable stick bounce to suit your playing style. And when you drive the bat into the specially designed bass drum, you physically displace air inside the shell, creating air pressure and resistance that gives you a remarkable acoustic bass drum feel.

Shallow shells, more intense performance
While the VAD307 kit's shallow tom and bass shells save space and weight, they don't sacrifice performance. Each element of the VAD307 kit is unique and features custom sensors designed to deliver a natural response and superior feel in a surprisingly compact package.

Slimmer, low-profile cymbals
The VAD307 features cymbals with much thinner profiles than previous generations, offering more natural movement and better response. Each cymbal can be muted by simply gripping the edge, just like a real acoustic cymbal. The 14-inch CY-14R-T ride cymbal even features a three-way trigger with independent sounds for the rim, body and bell.

Chrome-plated, double-frame drum stands
The way drums and cymbals are mounted doesn't just project a classic image, it also influences the way they feel to play.

Bluetooth audio streaming
Built-in Bluetooth lets you wirelessly stream audio from a phone or laptop to the module, making it ideal for playing through headphones. Play along with backing tracks and your favourite bands, you can even record your performances, with or without accompaniment, so you know where you need to improve your playing.

Your personal on-board drum coach
Coach mode supports your daily practice sessions, with progress tracking that makes learning effective and rewarding. Play through warm-ups, develop your sense of groove, tempo and timing, and even work on your stamina, all with a score that highlights your progress and motivates you to improve.
