Presentation
The Sabian HHX 18" French New Symphonic is designed for percussionists looking for a cymbal capable of producing a rich and expressive sound within an ensemble. Its 18-inch diameter and Medium-Thin gauge promote a full-bodied response, with enough substance to build a rich sound whilst retaining a certain finesse in the playing.
Its B20 alloy and hammering contribute to its tonal character, described as ‘Dark’, with an interesting balance between warmth and brilliance. The HHX series is designed around dark, effervescent tones, complemented by a long, balanced sustain. The result retains a beautiful depth whilst allowing the cymbal to gradually develop its timbre within the sound space.
With its overall volume and ‘Bright-Dark’ tone, this cymbal therefore brings a particularly nuanced palette to orchestral ensembles. It allows for the development of contrasts and crescendos with a musically full response, whilst retaining that recognisable HHX signature.
